We have now grown to serve over 200,000 customers from Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, who trust Independent Reserve to easily buy and sell Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and other major cryptocurrencies. Independent Reserve offers a range of innovative features, including the KPMG tax reports, AutoTrader, API integration and world-class security.


Recently we were the first cryptocurrency exchange in Singapore to receive a licence from MAS (the local regulator), ahead of 170 global competitors. Moreover, we have plenty of exciting product and marketing developments planned over the next 12 months.

In response to our continued growth and success, we are expanding our Sales & BD team and are looking for passionate and driven talent to spearhead our sales strategy in Singapore.

About the role: 

We are looking for a driven and fast-learning sales & business development associate with a positive attitude, who will leverage their relationship development and account management skills to develop, lead and implement growth opportunities and inspire new investment into the world of cryptocurrency.

This role is based in Singapore but you will be an integral part of the sales team based in Sydney, receiving ongoing training, support and mentoring. The ideal candidate will be results driven with the ability to take on the personal challenge of exceeding targets and revenue goals, and contributing to the delivery of the sales team’s objectives. You will have an optimistic approach and a resilient outlook and see objections as an opportunity for further discussion.

This role will be reporting to the MD of Singapore and the Head of Sales & Business Development in Sydney and will be working alongside and collaborating with a range of functions including the OTC Desk, Marketing and the Support Team.

A broad sales role across a range of sectors including retail and institutional investors, financial advisers and merchants, with plenty of growth opportunity in a rapidly expanding industry. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and targeting new business leads and sales opportunities
  • Managing a sales pipeline of high value opportunities
  • Initiating new partnership outreach programs and maintaining relationships
  • with existing partners
  • Participating in developing strategic plans for target accounts and identifying the required supporting resources
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive customer engagement and value generation
  • Participating in group presentations to partners (small group presentations, webinars, video conferencing etc.)
  • Managing inbound inquiries about our products and services
  • Onboarding customers onto the OTC trading desk
  • Mining for business development opportunities via social media and other prospecting channels

About you:

Skills and experience we are looking for:

  • A genuine passion for Crypto and the ability to quickly build on existing knowledge of the crypto ecosystem. Industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • A minimum of 3 years’ sales and business development experience, ideally from a financial services or investment background, with the ability to demonstrate previous success in managing client-facing roles
  • The ability to successfully manage a sales process through the entire sales cycle, from identifying an opportunity, to proper qualification, contract negotiation, through to closing.
  • A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to engage with key stakeholders at all levels
  • A willingness to engage in outbound sales initiatives and a flair for presenting
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • An appetite to progress and expand your knowledge and responsibilities
  • The tenacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment, the ability to adapt to changing priorities and apply effective problem-solving skills
