About the Job:
The Financial Controller will own the financial operations of the Singapore entity, ensuring rigorous accounting, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep expertise in both traditional financial controls and the nuances of digital asset accounting. You will work closely with the executive team, external auditors, and our compliance team on all finance-related matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ownership of the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements in accordance with SFRS / IFRS
- Maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures across the Singapore entity
- Assist with regulatory reporting obligations to MAS, including MPI licence compliance and safeguarding obligations
- Oversee GST filings, corporate tax compliance, and transfer pricing documentation in coordination with external advisors
- Manage relationships with external auditors, assist with annual group audit and lead the annual audit for the local Singapore entity.
- Support treasury management, liquidity planning, and cash flow forecasting
- Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support strategic decisions
- Develop and mentor a small finance team, building capability as the business scales
Experience and Skills we are looking for:
- CA, CPA, or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- 8+ years in finance/accounting, including Big 4 or financial services background
- Background in fintech, crypto exchange, or payments businesses preferred
- Strong knowledge of SFRS / IFRS and Singapore tax requirements
- Experience operating within an MAS-regulated entity (MPI, CMS, or similar)
- Proven track record of managing audits and external reporting
- Hands-on experience with crypto or digital asset accounting
- Experience building finance processes in a fast-scaling environment
- Prior people management experience
